Kenneth B. Brewer

Cabinet: Light brown mahogany veneered with inlaid holly banding around bottom of case; ebony nameboard with inlaid brass letters for name; Three hexagonal tapered legs with turnings at the top and bottom with large brass casters; Maple veneer underneath lid and inside rim of case; Open carved music rack on movable music desk with wooden candle supports with original black velvet covering for lamp or candle.

Dimensions:  7' - 10" long, 54 ½" wide @ keyboard; 38" from top of case to floor

Action: Viennese action with original hammers with new skin coverings; overhead dampers in rack; keybed felts replaced and recently regulated.  Very responsive.

This piano retains its original finish in excellent condition except the legs and pedal lyre which have been touched up.  New strings maybe 10 years ago; original tuning pins; holds good tune in stable environment.  Straight strung with composite iron hitchpin plate and struts; bolt on capo bar for treble.  Has a very rich sound harmonically but a rather round, romantic tonal quality. A rare piece!
